Local authorities are scheduled for September 26

The Local Elections are approaching – they are scheduled for 26 September – and the political parties and independent movements handed in, until this Monday, 2 August, the competing lists in the various Algarve municipalities. 

There are certainly many more, but the Sul Informação it gathers here the candidacies that made a point of sending to our newspaper the information about their lists or the respective delivery to the courts.

Em FARO, PS, Left Block and the coalition “United by Faro", which brings together PSD, CDS, MPT, PPM and Liberal Initiative, have already delivered the lists.

The latter made the delivery last Friday, July 30th, with the presence of candidates for the various municipal bodies.

 

Delivery of PSD/Faro

 

Rogério Bacalhau, president of the Chamber, is running again, running for an unprecedented third consecutive term. Christopher North he also returns to be the head of the list for the Municipal Assembly.

For the Union of Parishes of Faro, advances the current president Bruno lage, and, in Montenegro, the county's youngest parish, the candidate is Virgínia Alpestana, who had already assumed the presidency of the Board in 2020.

The news is reserved for the União das Freguesias de Conceição and Estoi, whose list will be headed by the young independent businesswoman Patrícia Cadete, and for Santa Bárbara de Nexe, where the candidate will be the frame technician and association leader Osvaldo Serro, also independent.

In the delivery of the lists to the Court, Ofélia Ramos, president of the PSD/Faro, Adriano Guerra, president of the CDS/Faro, as well as the local representatives of IL and MPT, respectively Daniel Viegas and Filipe Nascimento, and the district president of PPM David Calado.

The official act was prepared by the agent of the candidacy, the well-deserved businessman and citizen from Faro, Aníbal Guerreiro.

O PS also delivered the lists, in Faro, last Friday, at a time when he participated John the Warrior, former rector of the University of Algarve and agent of the candidacy he intends to elect Joao Marques as president of the Chamber.

In the other municipal bodies, Luís Coelho heads the list of the Municipal Assembly and, in the Parish Assemblies, they are candidates Carlos Gordinho (Union of Parishes of Faro – Sé and S. Pedro), Fernando Ferradeira (Montenegro), José Jerónimo (Union of Parishes of Conceição and Estoi) and Eduardo Sousa (Santa Bárbara de Nexe).

As to Left Block, delivered this Monday, August 2nd, the lists to the Local Authorities, headed by the doctor Hannibal Coutinho that competes for the autarchy.

The remaining candidates are Célia Gonçalves, researcher at the University of Algarve (Municipal Assembly), Nuno Viana, designer (União de Freguesias de Faro) and José Moreira, university professor (União de Freguesias de Montenegro).

The president of the Farense candidacy of the Left Block is Manuel Dias Afonso, a retired secondary school teacher.

With regard to the BREAD, have in Elza Cunha the candidate for the City Council. This party has already submitted its candidacy to the Court, with Paulo Baptista being, in addition to number 2 in the Chamber, the candidate for the Municipal Assembly and the Parish Assembly of Santa Bárbara de Nexe.

Carlos Edgar is the head of the list for the União de Freguesias de Faro and Abílio Guerreiro to the Montenegrin Parish Assembly.

Already CDU has as a candidate for the Chamber Catarina Marques, teacher and municipal deputy.

The other candidates of this coalition are António Mendonça (Municipal Assembly), Ricardo Catarro (Assembly of the Junta da União de Freguesias de Faro (Sé and São Pedro), Isa Martins (Assembly of the Parish Council of Montenegro) and Sara Vitor (Assembly of the Union of Parishes of Conceição and Estoi) and also Sérgio Martins, current president of the Parish Council of Santa Bárbara de Nexe, who re-apply for the position.

 

“Happy Portimão” Coalition

 

Passing to PORTIMÃO, coalition «Happy Portimão», which brings together CDS, Nós Cidadãos and Aliança, has also already presented its candidacy for the Municipalities, led by Luis Carito, former deputy mayor of Portimão elected by the PS and who was involved in a judicial process as a mayor.

The agent is Luís Batalau, a pediatrician who presided over the Board of Directors of the Hospital do Barlavento Algarvio for several years.

Portimão lawyer Ângela Venâncio Quadros leads, as an independent, the list to the Municipal Assembly of Portimão.

José Pedro Caçorino, current CDS councilor at the Portimão Chamber, is the proposed candidate for the Parish Assembly of Portimão, with César Barata, former deputy provider of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Alvor, the head of the list for the Alvor Parish Assembly . As to Left Block, filed the lists last Friday, July 30th, with João Vasconcelos, deputy in the Assembly of the Republic and current councilor, to once again be the candidate for the Chamber.

Pedro Mota heads the candidacy for the Municipal Assembly, and José Conrado Dias is the representative.

Still in Portimão, Isilda Gomes is once again the candidate of the PS to the City Council, for which, if elected, it will be her third and last term at the head of the municipality. The candidate's agent is doctor João Amado.

As regards CDU, the head of the list to the Chamber is Nuno Cordas, while Lurdes Melo is running for the Municipal Assembly.

 

PS/Loulé Lists

 

Em LOULE, the lists of PS, delivered this Monday, have new names. Pedro Pimpão, current vice-president of the Chamber, is not part of the candidates, nor is Heloísa Madeira, councilor with the responsibility of Urbanism.

The candidate list for the City Council is led by Victor Aleixo and it has four of the current councilors – Ana Machado, Abílio Sousa, Carlos Carmo and Marilyn Zacarias, also counting on the presence of David Pimentel (Manager), Adriana Guerreiro (Researcher at UAlg), Abel Matinhos (Jurist) and Telma Brás (Teacher) .

For the Municipal Assembly, Carlos Silva Gomes, former Civil Governor, is the candidate.

Joaquim Pinto (Almancil), António Martins (Alte), José Fernando Carrusca (Ameixial), Nelson Brazão (Boliqueime), Telmo Pinto (Quarteira), Rute Leal (Salir), Carlos Filipe (São Clemente), Analídio Ponte (São Sebastião) and Carlos Faísca (União Freguesias Querença, Tôr and Benafim) are the candidates for the Parish Assemblies.

As to PSD, also already has the closed lists, presented and delivered to the Court. Rui Cristina is the candidate for the City Council, which also includes, in the places below, João Paulo Sousa, Margarida Correia, Cláudio Lima, Carlos Martins, Maria João Fonseca, Inácio Machado, Isa de Brito, Paula Dias, José Ribeiro de Melo, Elsa Pires and Carlos Mestre Nunes.

At the Municipal Assembly, the head of the list is doctor Pedro Rocheta.

António Gonçalves (Almancil), Silvia Martins (Alte), Acácio Costa (Ameixial), José Borges (Boliqueime), Vítor Duro (Quarteira), Maria de Deus Domingues (São Clemente), José Leal (São Sebastião) and Daisy Belt (Union of Parishes of Querença, Tôr and Benafim) complete the lists.

For your side, Tiago Grosso is the candidate of Left Block to the Municipality of Loulé.

Still in Loulé, Ambrose Vergil was chosen by CDU to the Chamber and Carla Gomes to the Municipal Assembly.

O PAN candidate Ana Poet to Loulé Council, while Amália Carrilho presents herself to the Quarteira Parish Council, and Isabel Figueiras to Almancil.

In this municipality, there is at least one other candidacy: that of André Leman, as an independent, for the Almancil Parish Assembly.

Em LAGOON: PS publicly presented its candidates this Friday, July 30th. Luís Encarnação, current mayor, is once again the head of the list for the Municipal Council and Águas da Cruz to the Municipal Assembly.

Anabela Simão is number two on her list and Ana Martins is number 3. The big news on the list is Ruben Palma, current Chief of Staff, who appears in fourth place on the list, followed by Mário Guerreiro, current councilor.

For the Parish Assemblies, the candidates are: Joaquim Varela (Estômbar and Parchal), Joaquim Paulo (Lagoa and Carvoeiro), Luís Alberto (Ferragudo) and Luís Bentes (Porches).

 

Delivery of the Lagoa First Movement lists

 

Still in this county, the First Lagoon Movement he has also already submitted his lists to the Court of Portimão. Francisco Martins, former president of the Chamber elected by the PS, is running for office again, but now as an independent.

The head of the list for the Municipal Assembly will be Alves Pinto, a 73-year-old civil engineer, while the candidate for the Union of Parishes of Lagoa and Carvoeiro is Paulo Bernardo, 43, a senior sports coach.

For the Parish Council of Porches, this independent movement chose Pedro Silva (a 41-year-old businessman).

Clemente Camarinha, 58-year-old accountant, is the head of the list for the Union of Parishes of Estômbar and Parchal, and Pedro Cardoso, 41, head of Estação Salva-Vidas, is the candidate for Ferragudo.

As to PSD, who has already led the Chamber, chose Mario Vieira as head of the list for the City Council and José Inácio, former mayor, for the Municipal Assembly.

Passing to SÃO BRÁS DE ALPORTEL, PS and PSD also have their lists closed and handed over to the court. O PSD also returned to bet, once again, on Bruno Sousa Costa for the City Council, choosing Fabiano Rodrigues for the Municipal Assembly and Cesaltina Conceição for the Parish Council. The agent is Rui Eusébio.

Already CDU selected Antonino Costa as a candidate for the Chamber. Mário Cunha is chosen for the Municipal Assembly and Adriana Cavaco for the Parish Council.

As to PS, handed over the lists, on the morning of Monday, August 2nd, to the various municipal bodies of Vila do Bispo.

The moment, accompanied by Luís Graça, president of PS/Algarve, had Ruth Silva, current mayor and who is running for the position for the first time, as well as Armindo Vicente, head of the list for the Municipal Assembly.

The remaining competitors are: Ana Custódio (Budens), André Pinheiro (Sagres) and Rui Carriço (Vila do Bispo and Raposeira).

The campaign manager is José Luís Mateus and the financial manager Márcia Francisco.

No PSD, Paula Freitas is the candidate for the Chamber and, for the CDU, Alexandre Estradas.

In the neighboring county of LAGOS, CDU he has also already submitted his lists, handing them over to the Court.

Alexandre Nunes is the candidate for the Chamber and José Manuel Freire for the Municipal Assembly. For the Parish Assemblies, this coalition that joins PCP and PEV chose Manuel Catarino (Odiáxere), Maria José Cintra (Luz) and Luís Fagundes (S. Gonçalo de Lagos).

Still in Lagos, the PAN delivered their lists this Monday. Maria João Sacadura is the candidate for both the Chamber and the Municipal Assembly.

Hugo Pereira, current president (PS), is applying for the first time for the position he holds, while Pedro Palma Moreira is the choice of PSD.

 

 

Candidates of the Liberal a Silves Initiative

 

Continuing through Windward, the Liberal Initiative will compete in SILVES, having delivered the lists this Friday, July 30th.

António Sequeira is the candidate for the Municipal Council, while Daniel Silva, resident in São Bartolomeu de Messines, was chosen for the Municipal Assembly.

Finally, Bruno Faria is a candidate for the Parish of Silves.

Rose palm, from CDU, wants to continue ahead of the destinies of the autarchy and is running for a third and last term. For the Municipal Assembly, there are new things, with Débora Quaresma being chosen as the head of the list.

CDU municipal candidacies for Silves are closed with Tito dos Santos Coelho (Silves Parish Council), Carla Benedito (São Bartolomeu de Messines), Raul Santos (Alcantarilha and Pêra), Dário Grave (Algoz-Tunes) Alice dos Santos ( Armação de Pêra) and Luís Rafael (São Marcos da Serra).

Jorge Costa, who was an Olympic athlete, is chosen by the CDU to the Chamber.

O PAN presents himself, for the first time, to the municipal elections, in Olhão, with the Environmental Engineer as head of the list for the Chamber Alexandre Pereira, of 41 years.
