Lurdes Melo is the candidate for the Municipal Assembly

Nuno Cordas is CDU's candidate for the Portimão Chamber in the next Municipal Elections. The CDU also announced this Monday, April 12, that Lurdes Melo is the candidate for the Municipal Assembly. 

Nuno Cordas is 39 years old and is a senior diagnostic and therapeutic technician – Pharmacy. He is a referee retired by the Football Association of the Algarve, and is currently active as an observer for the Portuguese Football Federation.

He is also a micro-entrepreneur in the transport and tourism sector – Tourism Taxi. He is a member of the PCPe's Portimão Council Committee and was the representative of João Ferreira's candidacy for the European Parliament, in the municipality of Portimão.

“Over the last decade, he has maintained permanent contact with the community of Portimão, in the exercise of his functions as a community pharmacy,” says CDU.

Nuno Cordas is also an association leader, trainer in the areas of health and arbitration and author of the poetry book: Identidade do Puzzle.

As for Lurdes Melo, she is 58 years old, is a lawyer in the Comarca of Portimão and has a degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Coimbra.

In addition to having been a candidate for the CDU for the Assembly of the Republic in 2019, she has been elected to the CDU at the Municipal Assembly of Portimão since 2017, heading the CDU's candidacy for this municipal body in the next elections.

The CDU, which will present more candidates, namely to the Parish Assemblies, in the "coming weeks", sets as its goal the "recovery of a councilor in the municipal executive, capable of taking the voice of workers and populations to that body in a county marked by deep inequalities, due to the lack of municipal investment, businesses and options that over the years have ruined the municipality's finances, due to the lack of appreciation of the municipality's workers and public services».
