Vítor Guerreiro will once again be the PS's candidate for the Chamber of São Brás de Alportel, Ulisses Brito continues to lead the socialist list for the Municipal Assembly and João Rosa will again head the list for the Parish Assembly in this year's municipal elections.
The unanimous decision was taken last Friday by the Political Committee of São Brás de Alportel of the Socialist Party.
Vítor Guerreiro was chosen to lead the socialist municipal project and continue to manage the City Council's destinies in the next four years, «with renewed hope in continuing to make São Brás de Alportel a municipality with dynamism and attractiveness to live and invest, which is already a reference, at national level, in several areas of intervention», highlights the PS Council Political Commission.
The candidate to the Chamber, at the end of the vote, said that it is "with pride and a sense of mission that I assume this commitment with the Socialist Party and with the people of São Brasenses".
The objective, he emphasizes, is to «continue the global strategy of development and quality of life that we have been pursuing in our municipality in a consistent and planned work, based on those that are the priorities, to respond to the demanding challenges of the time in which we live: relaunching our local economy, supporting companies, families and the community, reinforcing social intervention and betting on the municipality's sustainable development. A project by a motivated, experienced team, deeply knowledgeable about the reality and needs of the municipality and São Brasenses».
Vítor Guerreiro says that, despite the difficult times, he believes in the union, in the spirit of resilience and in the capacity for reinvention of the people of São Brasenses who have already overcome many battles and showed their solidarity and mutual help. It is for all the people of São Brás de Alportel that I accepted this challenge and I will continue to give my best, to work, to strengthen partnerships and to create the support measures and the necessary responses for São Brás de Alportel to recover as quickly as possible from this economic crisis. and social caused by the pandemic.
The candidate for the Municipal Assembly says that he once again embraced this mission, convinced that «the Municipal Assembly is an organ that promotes citizenship, transparency and dialogue in municipal life and it is in this context that I want to continue to contribute to the proximity between elected officials and voters and for the construction of the future of our council, which is built on a daily basis».
João Rosa, candidate for the Parish Assembly, for his part, stressed that «it is with immense satisfaction that I receive this new challenge, to lead the Parish Assembly list again, with my commitment to continue working for people, in this path of citizenship and proximity, in defense of the well-being of the community. A challenge of the greatest importance, in the current context of crisis, where the Parish Council has to continue to be an open door to those who need it most».
The Municipal Political Commission says that "it understands that the current presidents of the City Council, Municipal Assembly and Parish Council should re-apply, not only for their dedication, but also for the way they have performed their functions, honoring the position for which they were elected, in a dignified and responsible way, always meeting the needs of all citizens».
