The decentralized meeting of the Council of Ministers has already started this Thursday, March 2nd, at the Coordination and Regional Development Commission (CCDR) of the Algarve, in Faro. Upon arrival, António Costa had a demonstration with dozens of people.
The prime minister arrived on foot from Rua Vasco da Gama.
About 150 meters from the entrance to the CCDR, dozens of teachers and tax workers were heard, with shouts of protest. The police forced the demonstrators to move away, without any incidents having occurred.
Upon arrival, and questioned by journalists about the successive strikes by teachers, António Costa only said that «negotiations are ongoing».
Interestingly, João Costa was one of the first ministers to arrive, but he stayed away from the protest – just as he had done yesterday, incidentally, at the Pinheiro e Rosa Secondary SchoolOn Faro, is at Portimao.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers, which started late, also has the presence of Rogério Bacalhau, president of the Chamber of Faro.
On the table will be the new organic law of the Coordination and Regional Development Commissions that must be approved by the executive of António Costa.
For the end of the morning, beginning of the afternoon, the usual briefing of the Council of Ministers is foreseen, which, in principle, will be done by António Costa and who will be accompanied by Sul Informação.
