Tax unions, STOP and USAlgarve demonstrate in front of the Council of Ministers in Faro [video]

Protest marks «the second day of the national protest of Tax and Customs Authority workers»

The Tax Workers Union (STI) is this Thursday, March 2nd, from 9 am, in protest in front of the Coordination and Regional Development Commission of the Algarve (CCDR), in Faro, where the Council of Ministers meets.

But, this morning, there are other entities demonstrating in the same place, as shown in the video we published above. There are also teachers and non-teaching staff linked to STOP, as well as trade unionists from the União de Sindicatos do Algarve linked to the CGTP-In.

The concentration of trade union representatives was attended by the president of the STI, Ana Gamboa, and marked «the second day of the national protest by the workers of the Tributary and Customs Authority (AT), against professional devaluation, the degradation and disorganization of services and the lack of of employees, issues to which the union structure has alerted the supervisory body and which result in the imminent collapse of the sector».

Under the motto "Without Tax and Customs Authority workers there is no Social State", in addition to the partial strike called for this month, for the first three hours and last three of the working day - and which will be renewed for equal monthly periods, until the end of end of the year or until the STI sees its claims met – the Union announces that it will promote, in the coming weeks, together with services in various locations in the country and also at airports, street actions to educate citizens.
