A photographic raid and a walk that is, at the same time, a garbage collection action will take place on Sunday, April 28th, during the Silves Runners Plogging Challenge Portugal 2024, which takes place in this municipality from 9 am.
This initiative, carried out as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April, combines a plogging, «an eco-responsible sporting practice that consists of collecting trash during a walk or run», to a photographic beat dedicated to the theme “April in Bloom”.
«Encouraging creativity, within the scope of photography, connecting the 25th of April and physical activity are the objectives of this initiative. The theme of the photo beat aims to encourage participants to share their perspective on the values of April, freedom, democracy, and human rights, through recording moments of solidarity, mutual help and the values of April – the intervention civic", according to the Chamber of Silves, which promotes the event.
The walk is of low difficulty (5 kilometers).
