Lagos Municipal Assembly approved amendments to the PDM

All Chambers must adapt the Municipal Master Plan to the new law by the end of the year

The alteration that was made to the Municipal Master Plan (PDM) of Lagos, to adapt it to the new rules of classification and qualification of soils, was approved by the Municipal Assembly of Lagos, at its meeting on Tuesday, May 2nd.

The final proposal that was approved had already been "adjusted as a result of the contributions received during the public discussion", according to the Lagos Chamber.

«With this decision, Lagos becomes one of the first municipalities in the Algarve region to complete the cycle of procedures imposed by the Law on the General Bases of Public Policy on Soils, Spatial Planning and Urbanism and by the Legal Regime of Management Instruments Territorial (RJIGT) to adapt the PDM to the new rules of soil classification and qualification and to incorporate the norms of the special land use plans», adds the municipality.

Municipalities are required to include, by 31 December 2023, the new classification and qualification rules in their respective municipal plans, "under penalty of suspending the rules of the territorial plans in force and impeding the practice of any acts or operations that imply the occupation, use and transformation of the soil», he concludes.
