For 25 hours, the artist Nelda Magalhães challenged the students and teachers of a 5th grade class to stage the “Bailado do Talude”, giving body and voice to the fantastic characters of the Paleozoic kingdom, which existed around 400 million years ago. years.
This tale is part of the work “Os Contos do Mago”, by the writer and geologist Helena Tapadinhas, current intermunicipal coordinator of the National Arts Plan (PNA).
The students started on a pedestrian route to Castelejo beach, where they played games and discovered local geology, accompanied by municipal archaeologist Ricardo Soares.
Arriving at the school, they transformed the classroom into a performance and dance studio and set out to create the play. Together with the teachers of each discipline, the characters come to life through representation and form based on scenographic props created by the students.
The 5th grade class acquired a global experience on the creative process, enjoying different areas of the performing arts.
On the 31st of May, at 11 am, the representation of the short story will be taken to the stage.
