Young Algarve accordion players will play music in video clips by Associação Garvefole

25 video clips will be released today on the Association's Youtube channel

The Garvefole Accordion Association is going to release 25 video clips with young Algarve accordion players, students and former students of Nelson Conceição, this Wednesday afternoon, at 17 pm, in its Youtube.

This presentation follows on from the record editions “The Accordion by the hands of young people”, started in 2013, which already has four volumes.

These video clips, in addition to including some songs previously recorded on these albums, «include some themes from the fifth album, which is in preparation, and which will be available to the public in the first quarter of next year», says Associação de Accordeão Garvefole.

Around 50 young people from various parts of the Algarve have already participated throughout this project, «many of them recognized in various national and international competitions, promoting and enhancing the practice of the accordion among young people and, at the same time, recovering and disseminating works/authors that they left behind. a legacy that enriches our intangible heritage», he explains.

The audios were recorded in Nelson Conceição's studio and had the special participation of musicians Ricardo Martins (Portuguese guitar), Cláudio Sousa (classical guitar), Luís Henrique (electric bass), and the video clips were made by João Espada and recorded in various locations of the Algarve.

The young participants are Afonso Coelho, Ana Luísa de Águeda, Andreia Martins, Bruna Palma, Carina Duarte, Carolina Palma, Carolina Veloso, Catarina Viegas, Cristiano Teixeira, Daniel Silva, David Mendes, Filipe Cortes and Gonçalo Bicho.

Also participating were young people Hugo Afonso, Inês Faria, João Palma, Lara Coelho, Madalena Sousa, Mariana Coelho, Mateus Marrachinho, Matilde Sousa, Miguel Coelho, Pedro Gonçalves, Pedro Ramos, Rodrigo Veloso, Tiago Coelho, Tiago Conceição, Tito Alexandre and Tomás Alexander.

This initiative has the Ministry of Culture as its institutional partner, within the scope of the “Guaranter Cultura” program, and has the support of the municipality of Loulé, the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, the Parish Councils of São Clemente and Santa Bárbara de Nexe , of the Association of Accordion Players of the Algarve – Mito Algarvio, of the Sociedade Recreativa Bordeirense, of APEXA and of Beltuna-Portugal.
