The works to improve the fence wall and the playing field at Escola Básica nº2 de Sagres, an investment of more than 85 thousand euros from Vila do Bispo City Council, have already been completed.
The work consisted of repairing cracks, full treatment of the entire surface and painting of the existing wall, as well as replacing all fencing, repairing and painting the access gates to the school grounds.
A two-meter-high fence was also placed, «with the aim of creating a security barrier, between the school grounds and the neighboring houses to the east».
«The intervention on the playing field included repairing the pavement, leveling and repairing the surface and painting the field. Painting to mark playing lines for the practice of futsal, handball and basketball, adapted to the size of the field, the installation of basketball equipment and the repair of existing goals were other works included in this contract», according to the Chamber
.
With this intervention, the municipality wanted to «value the outdoor space of this educational establishment as a place for recreation, creativity and learning».
Regarding the contract for the rehabilitation of this school building, it is expected that «it will begin by the end of 2024».
