The 5th edition of the Algarve International Piano Festival starts on the 7th of March and, until the 29th of May, there will be eight concerts, all broadcast online, recorded in the Great Auditorium of TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão.
Portuguese pianist Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro and Peruvian pianist Rosa Maria Barrantes will kick off the Festival (March 7th) with “Volta ao Mundo a Four Hands”, a recital where they will revisit Astor Piazzola, Samuel Barber, Francis Poulenc and Igor Stravinsky.
At the end of the month, on the 27th, the TEMPO stage receives two international names: Chinese pianist Xi Zhai and Russian pianist Anna Stepanova for a concert with two pianos.
Three shows are planned for April: on the 16th, Adriano and Eduardo Jordão will give a four-handed recital; on the 23rd, João Rosa will perform on solo piano, and at the end of the month, on the 30th, they will take to the stage of TEMPO Mário Laginha & Friends.
On the 9th of May there will be a four-hand piano concert, with António Rosado and Melissa Fontoura, followed by Vasco Dantas in a solo concert, on the 21st. The Festival closes on the 29th of May with Raúl Costa accompanied by the Banda Sinfónica Portuguesa .
Concerts are recorded without audience, complying with all safety regulations, and broadcasts always take place at 21 pm, with free access, on the pages of Theater Facebook and County.
