Algarve with one more death by Covid-19 and 15 new cases

There was one more death by Covid-19 and 15 new infections in the Algarve, revealed the General Directorate of Health (DGS) in its epidemiological bulletin this Tuesday, 15 September.

With the death reported today, the number of deaths from the pandemic in the Algarve region rises to 19, according to the DGS.

The bulletin does not give an account of the Algarve municipality where the death occurred, but the Sul Informação is already collecting information about the new victim.

As for the number of cases accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic, in the Algarve, there are now 1259.

In Alentejo, there are now 14 new cases, which brings the accumulated total to 1175.

Nationally, there was a considerable decrease in the number infected with the new coronavirus, compared to the previous days, with 425 new cases of Covid-19.

The cumulative total of cases since the beginning of the pandemic in Portugal is now 65.021.

With regard to recovered people, there were 177 more, which means that there have already been 44.362 people to overcome the disease in our country.

This means that active cases have grown to 18.784 (244 more than in yesterday's DGS bulletin).

 

 

As for deaths, there are now four in total to be regretted. In addition to the one registered in the Algarve, there was one death in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and two in the North region.

In all, Covid-19 has already caused 1875 deaths in Portugal.

By regions, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo was, once again, the one with the highest daily increase: 227 new cases, bringing the accumulated total to 33.297.

This is followed by the North region (23.528, plus 117), Center (5330, 51), Algarve (1259, plus 15), Alentejo (1175, plus 14), Azores (240, plus 1) and Madeira (192, with no new cases).

The number of people admitted to hospitals across the country rose to 478, one more than in yesterday's DGS bulletin. Of these, 59 are in the intensive care unit (minus 2).

There are currently 36.955 people in surveillance contact, 197 more than yesterday.
