Find out which parties you will be able to vote for on October 6th

19 parties presented candidacies for the Legislative Elections of the 6th of October by the Electoral Circle of Faro, five more than in the suffrage for the Assembly of the Republic, in 2015. Liberal Initiative, RIR, Aliança and Chega are the new parties and, since PSD and CDS-PP will not run in coalition, there is one more possibility of voting.

PS, CDS-PP, Nós Cidadãos, PDR, PTP, Liberal Initiative, PNR, PPM, Chega, Left Block, CDU, PAN, MPT, PURP, RIR, Livre, PSD, Aliança and PCTP-MRPP will compete for the 9 places of deputy in Parliament, and the drawing of the order on the ballot paper took place this Monday, 26 August.

The PS, which elected four deputies in 2015, will be the first party on the ballot and has Jamila Madeira as the head of the list. Next comes the CDS-PP, which has João Rebelo as first candidate.

Nos Cidadãos, which had already presented candidacy four years ago, is running again, with Luís Barroso leading the candidates, and appears in fourth place in the ballot paper.

The PDR of Marinho e Pinto, which, in 2015, obtained 2293 votes in the Algarve, is also running for elections, but the head of the list was not disclosed, as is the case with the PTP, which took 5th position in the bulletin.

The Liberal Initiative, which has Bruno Mourão Martins as the first candidate, will debut in elections for the Assembly of the Republic in the Algarve and the draw dictated that it comes in 6th position.

The debutant Chega, by André Ventura, will present Jorge Jesus as the first candidate.

At the CDU, which also elected a representative four years ago, there was a change in the first candidate, with Tiago Raposo taking the place that, in 2015, was Paulo Sá.

Paulo Batista is the head of the PAN list which, after having managed to be fifth, behind the CDU, in the last Legislative Elections, has the objective of electing a deputy for the Algarve.

The MPT, which appears in 13th place in the ballot paper, is also running for the Electoral Circle of Faro and Carlos Nunes, also known as Carlinhos “Greaxador”, will head the list.

The PURP has not released its head of the list, but it is running for Legislatures again after, in 2015, having obtained only 886 votes in the Algarve.

The RIR, the party founded by Vitorino Silva, also known as Tino de Rans, is a newcomer to elections for the Assembly of the Republic and also presented a list in the Algarve, which was not disclosed.

The Free bet on the young Ana Marcelino as head of the list and appears in the 16th position of the ballot paper.
