It all started in Santa Rita, a village in the interior that still holds knowledge from other times, but throughout the day there was also time to discover the charms of Cacela Velha and Vila Real de Santo António, as well as the future Grand House Guadiana, which made traveling until the 20s on a sailor's ride.

So it was another fam trip, visit aimed at travel agents, tour operators and journalists from the Algarve, this time in the municipality of VRSA.

In the village of Santa Rita, a visit was made to the Hermitage built there, in the XNUMXth century, in honor of Santa Rita de Cássia, and which, just this week, received a visit from an Italian tourist who went to the village to visit the village on purpose. church.

The Cacela Heritage Research and Information Center is also located in that village, where an exhibition is currently on display that recalls old professions, such as basket weavers, barbers and seamstresses.

From there, it went on to Cacela Velha, with the group able to enter the Fortaleza, enjoying the beautiful view. Before lunch, at the “Pescador” restaurant, in Vila Real de Santo António, with razor clam rice on the menu, we visited the Beach of Monte Gordo, who will gain a new life.

O Farol of Vila Real de Santo António, who received, a few days ago, a movie session, was also one of the points of the visit, with the bravest climbing to the top, where there is an overview of VRSA, as well as Ayamonte, already in neighboring Spain.

But the real “magic” was saved for the end of the afternoon, with the visit, on the ride of the sailor in the history of Fernando Pessanha, to the old Hotel Guadiana that will reopen with the name Grand House. In total there will be 31 rooms, but the hotel will also have a restaurant, a library and a lounge. The opening will take place during this summer.

The day ended with a short guided tour of the center of VRSA, the Pombaline city that was thought of as the rule and square. Did you know, for example, that all the buildings on Avenida da República, facing the Guadiana and Ayamonte, have seven windows?

This initiative, promoted by the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA), has already passed through Alcoutim, São Brás de AlportelMonchique, Lagos,  LagoaAljezurTaviraSilvesFaroAlbufeira, Vila do Bispo e Castro Marim , Loulé e look.

The only thing missing is Portimão.
