After a welcome reception at Espaço + in the municipality, the delegation led by the vice-president of the Chamber José Gonçalves and by Desidério Silva, president of the RTA, went to Praia de Vale dos Homens, in Rogil.

Then, time to get to know a little more about one of the county's delicacies: sweet potatoes. Representatives of the Sweet Potato Producers Association of Aljezur taught visitors some of the secrets that make this food an excellent product of Aljezur.

Company Rogil's bread it was the next “stop” and journalists and travel agents were able to try one of the applications of sweet potatoes, in the sweet potato bread produced there, or in the custard tarts.

The Rota Vicentina is one of the attractions of Aljezur and visitors were also able to experience it on a three-kilometer route along the Fishermen's Trail, accompanied by Marta Cabral, from Rota Vicentina, fur bird watcher Nuno Barros, by Ana Carla Cabrita da Walkin'Sagres, who helped interpret the local flora, and by two friendly donkeys from Donkeys & Arts.

With energy needing to be recharged, lunch was served at Praia da Amoreira, which was joined by José Amarelinho, mayor of Aljezur.

The only national monument in the county – the Arrifana Ribat – was “saved” for the afternoon, with a guided tour by José Marreiros, from the Association for the Defense of the Historical and Archaeological Heritage of Aljezur.

The trip continued to Pontal da Carrapateira, and visitors were able to appreciate the coast, the viewpoints, the village of Islamic fishermen and the beaches of Bordeira and Amado.

The Museum of the Sea and Land of Carrapateira “closed” the visit. There, D. Maria Teresa, retired fisherwoman from the Carrapateira Community, told the stories of a working life linked to the sea.
