On Saturday, the 17th, the Algarve Jazz Orchestra gave a Christmas concert at the Sé de Silves, included in the program of the Natal Associa + Cycle, by the Municipality of Silves.

This action, which also included the event “10 Million Stars – A Gesture for Peace”, organized by the Parish of Silves, in collaboration with Caritas Diocesana do Algarve, was attended by around 300 people, who were able to enjoy during about an hour and a half of a special repertoire prepared by this musical group, completely composed of well-known Christmas melodies, from “Have Yourself to Merry Little Christmas”, through “Jingle Bells” and many other classics from this period.

On Sunday, the 18th, the traditional Christmas concert by the Sociedade Filarmónica Silvense took place, this year also included in the Natal Associa + Cycle.

This show featured performances by the group Coral and the band from this institution, with both formations having interpreted a varied repertoire, which included from black sacred and spiritual music (Pannis Angelicus, for example), to pop music (Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen) , ending, of course, with the classic Christmas themes.

The cathedral was also filled, with the concert ended at 19:30 pm.

The objective of the Natal Associa + Cycle is to contribute to the creation of a decentralized cultural program that is more participative and closer to the local community, as well as presenting to the population the musical projects that are being developed by the various cultural agents of Silvese.
