Nautical Center of Faro there will be “Windsurf Weekend”

The deadline for registration is April 9

The "Windsurf Weekend", which aims to attract practitioners of this sport who want to reach a new level of knowledge, takes place on the 15th and 16th of April, at the Nautical Center of Praia de Faro.

«The event intends to create a moment of intensive training in this sporting discipline, but, this time, during the weekend», says the Câmara de Faro.

The initiative is aimed at students who have already completed the Windsurf Level I course at the Centro Náutico, or who have some experience in the sport and intend to.

For two days, various activities will be carried out. On the first day (Saturday, the 15th), the sessions (morning or afternoon) will consist of a Windsurfing Level II Experimentation, with direct technical monitoring on the water surface, to stimulate the first contact with the Level II contents, which are: Harness, beach-start, mainsails and boom turns.

For the following day (Sunday the 16th) small informal regattas are planned (competitive route) between the participants, also carried out with technical supervision, as a way of promoting collective practice.

This action will end with a convivial lunch at the “Elemento's” restaurant (14 pm to 00 pm), where the photographic/video recordings of the event will be shown.

Those interested in participating must be at least 16 years old, know how to swim and have already attended the CNPF Level I Windsurfing course or have experience in the sport.

Registration is mandatory, as a capacity of 20 participants is expected, and those interested must register via email at [email protected].

The deadline for registration is April 9th.

Those who participate only on Saturday have to pay 10 euros, while participation in both days, with lunch, costs 25 euros.

The Municipality of Faro/CNPF are supported by the Superior School of Education and Communication (ESEC-UAlg), the Nautical Station of Faro and Ginásio Clube Naval in organizing this event.

Anyone who wants more information should contact the CNPF, on social media (@desportojuventudeemfaro), via email [email protected], and telephones 289 870 898/289 870 056, or on the local authority website.
