Third Sacred Music Festival of Lagoa arrives in February

On Sundays at 17:00

The third edition of the Sacred Music Festival of Lagoa, organized by the cultural association Ideias do Levante, in partnership with the Municipality of Lagoa, returns in February. 

The initiative aims to «promote the religious artistic heritage of the municipality of Lagoa, decentralize concert venues, make known/promote religious spaces, artists, instruments and works by Portuguese and foreign composers».

According to Roberto Estorninho, president of the board of Ideias do Levante, «this third edition will bring together several projects around sacred music, promoting an exchange between institutions, artists/musicians and the public, which will offer an interesting dynamic and will, of course, , valuing, and making known, people, spaces and places».

On the 12th, at 17 pm, the Igreja da Misericórdia de Lagoa receives Michele Tomaz (soprano) and Jeferson Mello (piano). On the 00th, at the Ermida de Santo António (Mexilhoeira da Carregação), at 19 pm, there will be a performance by Salomé Matias (transverse flute) and Tiago Santos (clarinet).

Finally, on the 26th, also at 17 pm, the Hermitage of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, in Carvoeiro, receives Svetlana Bakushina (carnation).

All concerts take place on Sundays, with free admission and limited to the capacity of each space.
