Culture in Lagos with proposals for different tastes

Discover the schedule of the Centro Cultural de Lagos for the coming weeks

Lagos will deconfine culture, with a program that includes exhibitions and shows of dance, jazz, classical music and comedy, taking place over the next few weeks at the Centro Cultural de Lagos.

Today, April 29, World Dance Day, artists Adriana Xavier and Lillian Schulz will present an excerpt of the show “Ready to Fail” in this cultural space.

The event is free to enter and will be broadcast live on the municipality's Facebook page.

Opening the month of May, on the 1st, at 11:00 am, the Centro Cultural de Lagos hosts the concert “Algarve Jazz Orchestra Invites the Ladies”, with the participation of the artists Clara Buser, Sara Miguel and the renowned Maria Anadon.

On May 13th, at 19 pm, it will be the turn of the Orquestra Clássica do Sul to step onto the stage of the Cultural Center with the show “Ensembles Além Tejo”, a celebration of the music of the musician and composer Debussy.

Also in May, on the 14th, at 19:30 pm, António Raminhos and Luís Filipe Borges, «two big names in national comedy», will go on stage, who will present “O seu propr talk show”.

The May program at the Cultural Center closes on the 22nd, at 21 pm, with the contemporary dance show “Dialogue Series”, with Miguel Esteves and Miguel Ramalho, which is part of the 30th edition of the Festival Entrelaçados.

The public can also enjoy the exhibitions “Interdisciplinary Dialogue Art-Space-Architecture” and “Fernão de Magalhães in Caricature”.

In the first case, it is an exhibition by the German artist Ernst Föll, which presents “a symbiosis of various forms of art”, which will be on display until the 17th of July.

The exhibition dedicated to Fernão Magalhães, which can be seen until the 4th of June at the Cultural Center, is «a collaboration with the Museu Nacional da Imprensa where a set of 70 caricatures of the Special Caricature Award, integrated in the 21st Porto Cartoon World, are presented Festival, dedicated to this hero of the Discoveries», according to Câmara de Lagos.

«Between the 14th of June and the 23rd of July, the PRALAC exhibition is also planned, resulting from the Artistic Residency Program of LAC – Laboratory of Creative Activities (PRLAC)», concluded the municipality of Lacobrigense.

For the month of June, several unique cultural activities are already being prepared, which will include initiatives that are part of the Barlavento Ventania Performing Arts Festival.
