PSD: «Migrant trafficking network has counted on the silent complicity of the Government»

Yesterday's landing was the seventh known, "not being possible to determine those that were not detected"

The three Algarve deputies elected by the PSD consider that there is a "migration network of migrants in the Algarve", which "has counted on the silent complicity of the Government".

The parliamentarians denounce "the blatant omission of the State, which has allowed illegal migrants to flee after being in State custody, is an invitation for these operations to be repeated and translate into a bankruptcy of the Rule of Law."

They add that "procedures must be reviewed so that after being intercepted, they remain in the custody of the State for an endless period, flee or be released, as this is interpreted as a success for these trafficking networks that exploit their despair. people and constitute a serious threat to our region and the country”.

In a note sent to the editorial offices, the Social Democratic parliamentarians recalled that «the Algarve coast registered another landing of illegal migrants in the region, this time 28 Moroccan citizens. It is the seventh known landing, and it is not possible to determine those that were not detected».

«In good time, at the time of the first landings, the deputies of the PSD Algarve, Cristóvão Norte, Rui Cristina and Ofélia Ramos, questioned in person the Minister of Internal Administration Eduardo Cabrita, regarding what happened, who devalued the matter, retorting that the idea that we were facing a network of illegal trafficking was ridiculous, even when the landings intensified and the details of the same reported a growing sophistication of the means at our disposal».

The deputies inform that they will question the Minister of Internal Administration to "demand that he organize a quick response from an operational, surveillance and judicial point of view, so as, while there is still time, not to allow this route to be consolidated."
