Zélia Ferreira exhibits “Women of Africa” in Quarteira

Exhibition is scheduled to open on November 3, at 18:00

“Mulheres de África” is the name of the watercolor exhibition by artist Zélia Ferreira, which will be on show at the Praça do Mar Art Gallery, in Quarteira, from November 3rd to December 8th.

According to Câmara de Loulé, this exhibition “is a journey about the culture and traditions of African peoples. It is through women with their traditional costumes and adornments that the Angolan plastic artist Zélia Reis Ferreira makes known the cultural wealth of these peoples who, over the centuries, still resist and thus express their culture, their level and social strata, or your feelings».

In these works, the local authority says, «we can witness a small tribute by the artist to the “African Soul” in its most tender and penetrating look expressed by her “mummy” who are the strength and balance of a people who, in most cases, on this continent, they base their own society on the matriarchal system».

The exhibition will open at 18:00 pm, on November 3rd, and can be visited, with free entry, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:30 am to 13:30 pm and from 15:00 pm to 18:00 pm.
