The theater play “Vassilissa”, plus a cine-concert of “Video Lucem” and “Cataplay – a Tasting Show of Cataplana Algarvia” are some of the program's proposals "365Algarve" for the month of December.

On December 1st, at 11:00 am, Espaço +, in Aljezur, receives “Vassilissa ou a Boneca no Bolso”, by Teatro O Bando. This is «a story where the feminine power of intuition, the ability to see inside, to hear, to feel and quickly know how to act», says the press office of “365Algarve”.

The play, that is part of the schedule of “Lavrar o Mar”, will also pass by the old sawmill, in Monchique, on December 10th, at 16:30 pm.

On December 7, at 21 pm, the Church of S. Clemente in Loulé tells the story of one of the most important films in the silent film era: “The Mother”, by V. Pudovkin, at the second cine-concert of “Video Lucem”, after the debut with Chaplin.

The film will be set to music by Custódio Castelo, on Portuguese guitar, Carlos Menezes (double bass) and Fad'NU (vocals and guitar).

On December 22, at 10:30 am, the Historic Center of Faro visit the memories of your past through the "Faro Unveiled”, a staged tour that will start at Sé, passing by the Municipal Museum of Faro, and ending in the Space of the Walls.

At the end of this trip, D. Afonso III will leave a message to the participants who will also have the opportunity to participate in a wine tasting.

As for gastronomy, there will be new exhibitions of “Pasta e Basta – An Italian Mambo”, in the Algarve style. On December 1st and 2nd, at 19:30 pm, and on December 3, at 11:30 am, at Parque da Mina, in Monchique, everyone will be able to get your hands dirty.

Faro will receive, on December 10th, at 18 pm, the “Cataplay – Cataplana Algarvia Tasting Show”, at Tertúlia Algarvia, in Vila Adentro.

Custodio Castelo

«This initiative demonstrates how traditional recipes, inherited from the various civilizations that lived in the Algarve, are passed from generation to generation, from family to family, leading to a wide variety of cataplana recipes that have been modified over time. During the show, the actors will make a cataplana, involving the audience and their senses, through aromas, mysteries, poetry, tricks and alchemies».

The exhibitions will also have their prominent place in this month of December. Integrated in the Contemporary Art cycle “Um Certo Ponto de Vista”, with exhibition at the Municipal Museum of Faro, there are the exhibitions “Praia”, by Ana André, which will remain until December 3rd, and “Tochas” – a photographic exhibition by Vasco Célio, open from December 9th to February 4th.

The first is inspired by the artist's childhood moments on the beach, «a utopian place of well-being where everything slows down and restlessness gives way to happiness».

Vasco Célio's photographic record shows the protagonists of the legend told by the Procession of the Florida Torches, of São Brás de Alportel, one of the best known intangible heritages in the region. During the opening of this exhibition there will be a tasting of the best wines produced in the Algarve.

The “365 Algarve” program also offers the possibility of a different New Year's Eve, with the circus show “Klaxon”.

This will be an exhibition, integrated in the program of “Lavrar o Mar”, where the imaginary world of the air becomes the artist's reality. “The show has multiple artists and talents who build with body and soul a suspended journey through the improbable and on the limits of the impossible”.

The exhibition, made by the Companhia de Circo Contemporâneo Akoreacro, will take place from December 28th to 31st, at 21:00 pm, and January 1st at 17:00 pm, at the Monchique Heliport.
