Tagliatelle, with mackerel and sardine sauce, caplettis, made from kamoka flour with sweet potato, chorizo and black pudding filling, and tortelliis, of cheese bread Indian… and Portuguese turnips. Here is the delicious menu of “Pasta e Basta – An Italian Mambo”, in the Algarve style, which began with a full house, this Thursday, November 16, at the headquarters of Rancho Folclórico do Rogil (Aljezur).

Getting your hands dirty is in “Pasta e Basta”. O slogan it's perfect for a show in which the participants make the different pastas that they later eat.

70 people don't want to miss the opportunity to premiere “Pasta e Basta”, in a memorable show. After washing their hands, at the entrance, the participants were divided into three groups: one was in charge of the tagliatelle, the second of caplettis and the last of tortellini.

The hands were smeared with flour, stuffing and eggs, but that didn't matter. The smiles on the faces of the participants were a constant, even when kneading with effort, in true teamwork.

A great purpose of "Pasta & Basta", which is part of "365Algarve", is to promote interculturality, through dishes that have almost all over the world. Therefore, there was the participation of Ganesh, a young Nepalese who lives in Aljezur, and Ana Paula, a native of Cape Verde, who brought ingredients from their cultures to the menu: cheese bread and kamoka flour.

But the spectacle wasn't just about food. There was dancing, for example, and also a story told by Giacomo Scalisi and André Amálio, the two service cooks, about a man sentenced to death...

For Giacomo Scalisi, one of those responsible for programming “Lavrar o Mar”, of which “Pasta & Basta” is a part, it was “a great start”. «Everything went well. It's good to have a lot of public," he told the reporter from Sul Informação, who also got his hands dirty.
