The social democrat Conceição Cabrita has just been elected as the new mayor of Vila Real de Santo António, with an absolute majority, obtaining 44,95% of the votes.
Thus, the PSD kept the same four seats in the council that it had before, while the PS, which rose to 30,05% of the votes but kept two seats, and the CDU, which also increased to 18,79%, also obtained a city councilor.
The Left Bloc won 2,71% of the votes.
The abstention rate was 43,98%.
