Concerts by António Zambujo, Virgin Suta and Matias Damásio, a swim across the Guadiana River, disco on the pier late into the night and cocoa on the river at sunrise. These are the main ingredients of the 66th edition of the Festa de Alcoutim, which takes place on the town's quay, from the 8th to the 10th of September.
On Friday night, the 8th, at midnight, a concert by António Zambujo will take place. This is followed, at 1:15 am, by a firework over the river. Later, at dawn, there will be a dance and disco on the pier, marking the sunrise with cocoa in the river.
On Saturday, at the same time, the Virgen Suta from Alentejo perform, followed by a pyromusical show, dance, disco and cocoa.
on that day, at 17 pm, there will also be an international football game, pitting the teams from Alcoutim and Sanlúcar de Guadiana, the neighboring Spanish village, across the river.
On Sunday, to close, there will be, among many other things, at 15:45 pm, the crossing of the Guadiana River by swimming, followed by games of catching duck and tallow stick.
At 23:00, Angolan musician Matias Damásio takes to the stage, after which, at 00:15, there will be more fireworks…and more dancing, disco and cocoa at sunrise.
The profits from the party, organized by the Alcouteneja City Council, revert to the Grupo Desportivo de Alcoutim.
