The Clinics of S. Gonçalo de Odemira, Aljezur and São Teotónio will support the “Brisas do Atlântico” sporting event, by conducting free screenings for participants, which will take place at the Mobile Health Unit of the São Gonçalo de Lagos Hospital.

The multidisciplinary sporting event “Brisas do Atlântico” takes place between Almograve and Zambujeira do Mar, on the 10th of June, and includes competition and leisure events, in the modalities of cycle tourism, mountain biking, hiking, skating, run & bike and athletics.

This is an initiative of the Municipality of Odemira, whose mission is to contribute to a better sport for all, which covers the area of ​​healthcare.

Through the partnership with the Municipality of Odemira, the Clinics, which belong to the São Gonçalo de Lagos Hospital network, will carry out, free of charge, in their Mobile Health Unit, blood pressure assessment, blood glucose assessment, awareness for healthy eating and also Awareness for Solar Prevention.

The Clinics of S. Gonçalo de Odemira, Aljezur and São Teotónio provide various health services, such as general and specialty consultations, exams, electrocardiogram, nursing service, clinical analysis, ultrasound and dentistry.

At Hospital S. Gonçalo de Lagos, which belongs to the Portuguese health group 4H, clinical services are provided in the medical and surgical area, both in-patients and outpatients, also providing permanent 24-hour care service, external consultations and complementary means of diagnosis and treatment.

It currently offers 30 medical specialties and services and 26 inpatient beds. The Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) and has agreements with most insurers and health subsystems including the SIGIC.

Given the tourist characteristics of the region and the profile of users who visit Hospital S. Gonçalo de Lagos, doctors and nurses are fluent in foreign languages.
