The Algarve athlete Pedro Martins was eliminated this Monday in the first phase of the men's badminton tournament of the Olympic Games, taking place in London, after being defeated by the Danish Peter Gade by 2-0.

Pedro Martins failed to get the better of the tournament's fifth seed, in other words, the fifth best badminton player today, losing the matches by split 21-14 and 21-8.
