Parliament approves More Housing Program only with the favorable vote of the PS

Opposition projects failed

Parliament approved today, in general terms, with only a favorable vote from the PS, the Government's proposal with the measures of the Mais Habitação Programme, failing the various projects presented by the opposition.

Reflecting the debate that preceded these votes, in which the opposition maintained its criticism of the Government's proposal with the More housing Program measures, this was made possible with the favorable votes of the PS bench, the abstention of PAN and Livre and the vote against of the other parties.

The 10 bills in the area of housing were all failed, as were the draft resolutions and deliberations of the PSD, despite the fact that during the debate the Minister of Housing Marina Gonçalves expressed willingness to "improve the proposals" of the Government and mentioned that everyone would be «very welcome» in solving the problem in the sector.

Of the set of initiatives being debated today, presented by the opposition, only the PCP's draft resolution aimed at strengthening the means of the Institute for Housing and Urban Rehabilitation (IHRU) was made viable, gathering votes in favor of PS, PCP, BE, PAN and Livre and the abstention of the remaining parties.
