Vila do Bispo City Council invested 421 euros in a Data Center, located next to the central building, «thinking about computer security and resilience».
The new Data Center is a modular space with expansion capacity, consisting of a high security room, which includes a fire detection system, air conditioning, physical security, as well as a management system that allows remote monitoring of the infrastructure in time real.
The Data Center also has redundant air conditioning and power systems, as well as a generator set, thus ensuring the continuity and resilience of the space.
The management of the new infrastructure is carried out through a monitoring system that registers and sends alerts via SMS and email.
The technical room also has a video surveillance and access control system, in order to detect intrusion attempts.
The Câmara de Vila do Bispo explains that «the old space where the municipal technological system was installed had gaps in terms of power supply and air conditioning, so this new infrastructure guarantees the resilience of the computer system», guaranteeing that its operation « it is not conditioned to adversities that may occur, thus increasing the reliability of the services provided by the municipality, taking into account that its users are increasingly resorting to online services».
