Young man arrested on suspicion of stabbing himself next to Mar Shopping de Loulé

A 25-year-old man suspected of stabbing a man near Mar Shopping, in Loulé, on the 2nd of February, was detained by the Judiciary Police.

According to Correio da Manhã, the victim, who was found unresponsive on the roadside EN 125-4, between Faro and Loulé, next to a car with flat tires, after being attacked and stabbed, is Nelson Norte, 47 years old. The car is still in the same spot.

The man was assisted by INEM on the spot, but ended up dying at the Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Algarve.

According to the Judiciary Police, the death occurred following an attack "on three people", carried out "by unknown persons".

The victim was attacked «severely» with a cold weapon, after a «dispute for futile reasons», injuries that ended up causing his death.

After an investigation, the PJ was able to collect “relevant evidence” for the “full identification of the suspect”, which allowed the issuance of an arrest warrant.

The detainee, who is suspected of the crime of aggravated homicide, will be present today for judicial interrogation to find out what coercive measures will be applied to him.

The inquiry is directed by the Public Ministry, Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of Loulé.
