Tavira: Rain displaces man who was in motorhome

Citizen has already been rehoused at the Youth Hostel in Tavira 

A Chinese man, aged 46, was displaced this Monday, December 5th, after the rain flooded the motorhome he was in, in the area of ​​Pêgo do Aragão, in the interior of the municipality of Tavira. 

Ao Sul Informação, Tavira Municipal Firefighters source explained that the foreign citizen had been "alone for a few days now" near a stream that was dry.

Only, with the heavy rain of yesterday and today, the river filled and flooded the motorhome, from where the man had to be removed this morning.

This citizen has already been relocated at the Youth Hostel in Tavira.

According to the Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of the Algarve, around 150 incidents have already been registered across the region, since yesterday afternoon, due to rain and strong wind.

Faro was one of the most affected cities – in the Algarve capital, there were floods, road and street closures, downed trees, the facade of a derelict building knocked down and great chaos in traffic throughout the morning.

Rua de São Luís was badly affected, as was the Sul Informação said in this report.
