Children's theater «À Tona da Água» raises awareness of children to save water

The piece aims to «inspire children and unite them in the mission of saving and preserving water»

A children's play inspired by Charles Dickens' Christmas Tale, to take the message of saving water to 1st cycle students, is the new proposal of Águas do Algarve's environmental education project "Water Challenge", which enters the new school year with activities aimed at schools.

«After the success of the Tournament and the Day at Praia da Gaivota, in Quarteira, we will continue to encourage children to think collectively when it comes to the issue of water resources», emphasizes Teresa Fernande, spokeswoman for Águas do Algarve.

And if, in March, the activity was a tournament, «in October, we will have, in addition to a board game “How much you spare”, a Roadshow of activities “Water: the center of my ecosystem” that aims to alert and raise awareness among the youngest for their water consumption, visible or invisible, throughout their routines, at home and at school», he adds.

The play “À Tona da Água” will be presented in this Roadshow, which aims to «inspire children and unite them in the mission of saving and preserving water».

The grand opening will take place this Monday, October 3, in a double session at the Castro Marim Municipal Library, where, with the support of the Municipality, students from Castro Marim and Altura will have the opportunity to watch the play “À Tona de Water” in addition to the roadshow of activities.

Also on October 18, at the Municipal Library of Faro, and on October 26, in Alcoutim, there will be performances of the play.

In addition to these municipalities, the activities and theatrical Roadshow will take place in all municipalities in the Algarve.

The play will have an average duration of 45 minutes and will then be made available online for all who want to watch.
