Portimão will host the opening concert of the 15th Algarve Organ Festival, which will take place at the Igreja Matriz de Portimão, on the 4th of November, at 21:00.

In addition to this event, and given that «the dissemination of the organ is essential for its historical and patrimonial continuity», emphasizes the municipality, at 10:00 am, on November 5th, the Igreja Matriz will host a workshop guided by João Santos and directed to teachers and students of keyboard instruments and early music, heritage scholars and other interested parties.

Registration for the workshop, organized in partnership with the Academia de Música de Portimão, costs 5 euros and is open to a maximum of ten participants, who must pay the amount on the same day, while listeners can attend for free.

Closing the 15th Algarve Organ Festival in Portimão, the Igreja Matriz hosts a solo performance by organist Laura Silva at 21:00 pm on 11 November, Saint Martin's Day.

In a note, the municipality recalls that the pipe organ of the Igreja Matriz de Portimão was restored four years ago, in order to captivate citizens and visitors to preserve instruments that are cultural heritage, promote Portuguese and erudite music and spread appreciation for Organs historical bodies.
