The President of the Republic expressed, this Thursday, 29 September, his "heartfelt condolences" to the family of the young fisherman who died this morning in shipwreck off Praia da Salema (Vila do Bispo).

In a note published on the website of the Presidency of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa recalls that the «sea, the economic, historical and cultural heritage of the Portuguese nation, also brings dangers and hardships of life to fellow citizens who work in it and who deserve so much respect and admiration. ».

The Head of State also associates himself with “the pain of those who have lost a loved one, a work colleague or a friend, wishing the five survivors a speedy recovery” of this shipwreck.

The alert for this occurrence was given at 3:30 am this morning.
