UAlg hosts the VI Meeting of Psychologists of the Southern Guidance Services

The objective is to «strengthen the communication channels between the UAlg and the Psychologists of the Southern Guidance Services»

The VI Meeting of Psychologists of the Southern Guidance Services (EPSOS) will take place on the 23rd of February, from 10:00 am, in amphitheater 1.5 of the Pedagogical Complex, on the Penha Campus of the University of Algarve (UAlg). It will also be possible to participate online. 

The opening session will be attended by Paulo Águas, rector of the UAlg, Vítor Gamboa, coordinator of the Unit of Psychology of Education, Development and Career Counseling of the Psychology Service of the UAlg, and Carla Pita Fernandes, member of the Board of Southern Regional Delegation of the Order of Portuguese Psychologists.

EPSOS will have Diana Aguiar Vieira, a professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, as a guest, who will speak about the ''Factors that facilitate or inhibit access to Higher Education: the voice of students and psychologists''.

Luís Sérgio Vieira and Vítor Gamboa, professors at UAlg, will talk about ''The profile of students from professional courses''.

''Special competitions for admission to higher education for holders of dual certification courses in secondary education and specialized artistic courses'' will be the theme of the round table, which will have as speakers Ana Conceição, pro-rector of UAlg, Paulo Santos and Carla Antunes, coordinators of UAlg's special contests.

There will also be the presentation of a lecture as part of the UAlg Team initiative, “I am a student of a professional course and I am going to the University!”, by André Botelheiro, coordinator of the UAlg Communication Office.

The initiative will end with Luís Janeiro, director of the Psychology Service at UAlg, and Eduardo Esteves, pro-rector for Pedagogical Innovation and Student Support.
