Praia da Rocha receives the Regional Underwater Fishing Championship

The championship had not been held in the south for a long time.

The Portuguese Federation of Underwater Activities handed over to Clube Naval de Portimão the organization of the Regional Underwater Fishing Championship – South Zone, which had not been practiced in this part of the country for a long time.

Praia do Vau was the location chosen for the event, which will take place on the 12th of March, between 10:30 am and 15:30 pm. It will be a “fin race”, that is, the athletes enter the water from the beach, swim to their fishing spot and also go out on the sand. The public will thus have the possibility to watch the entry and exit of the athletes.

Next, the fish caught will be weighed next to the headquarters of the Clube Naval de Portimão, which will be donated in its entirety to Catraia – Temporary Reception Center for Minors at Risk.

In the same place, at 17:30, the award ceremony will take place.

Clube Naval de Portimão will line up with a team made up of the following athletes: Adriano Espírito Santo, Diogo Machado, Humberto Silva, Jody Lot and Tomé Silva.

Applications close on the 8th of March.
