Fernando Santos says Portugal was "very good" in the victory over Qatar

The selector highlighted the "balance" that Portugal had, both in "offensive and defensive terms"

«The team did well» and achieved a «fair result that could have been a little more extended». That's how Fernando Santos analyzes Portugal's victory against Qatar (3-0), achieved this Saturday night, 9 October, at Estádio Algarve.

At the press conference after the game, the national selector considered that the team "did very well, within what I had asked for for this game".

“The team was organized. In offensive moments, we looked for spaces with patience, not allowing exits to Qatar, which, I think, never reached our goal with any danger», said Fernando Santos.

The selector highlighted the “balance” that Portugal had, both in “offensive and defensive terms”.

«All the players responded to what I wanted, and there is, of course, always some aspect that we can improve», explained the Portuguese coach.

As for the performances of Matheus Nunes and Rafael Leão (debutants) and Diogo Dalot (one of the best in the field), Fernando Santos was perentory: «they showed that they are national team players».
