Os bartenders Jorge Coelho, Carlos Santos and Frederick Reizinho were the big winners of the National Cocktail Contest, in the “Flair Tending” category, in a competition that took place this weekend, 18 and 19 September, in Madeira Island.
The three “authentic jugglers specializing in good mixes for surprising cocktails in “Flair Tending””, Jorge Coelho, Carlos Santos and Frederick Reizinho, were placed in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, respectively. «The modality consists of several competitions and the bartenders Algarvians have reached top positions», says the municipality of Albufeira.
The competition had 30 bartenders from the Classical and “Flair Tending” strands of the Barmen Associations of the Algarve, Estoril and Madeira, with the Algarve team having achieved prominent positions, such as Jorge Coelho becoming National Champion for the fourth time.
The second and third places were also conquered by bartenders from the Algarve, that is, Carlos Santos and Frederick Reizinho, respectively, all in the “Flair Tending” aspect.
«Fair bartender it is the practice of bartenders to entertain customers, guests or the public, by manipulating bar tools and liquor bottles in complicated and dazzling ways.
Next year, the National Competition will take place in Albufeira, between the 1st and 3rd of April.
Running from the 17th until the 1st of October, it is the “Albufeira Cocktail Festival”, an event organized in a partnership between the Associação Barmen do Algarve and the Associação Comercial de Albufeira, with the support of the municipality of Albufeira, with the aim of boosting the end of this year's summer season.
«Throughout the 17 days of the event, several street shows are being carried out and, among other activities, a Road Show, with about a dozen animators, who do not leave indifferent everyone who passes through the city center or Avenida Sá Carneiro», concludes the municipality.
