Alcoutim no longer has active Covid-19 cases

DGS's latest update of the Covid-19 incidence rate placed Alcoutim as a very high risk municipality

The municipality of Alcoutim no longer has active cases of Covid-19, announced this Tuesday, the City Council, in a note sent to the newsrooms.

The absence of positive cases in the county is announced one day after the DGS has updated the list of at-risk counties, where Alcoutim emerged as the only municipality on the continent with a very high risk of contagion, that is, with more than 480 cases per 100 inhabitants.

However, data from the DGS referred to the period between 3 and 16 March, days after an outbreak was identified. among workers at a company that was installing solar panels in a mega photovoltaic power plant in the Alcoutenejo municipality.

As of yesterday, the outbreak was already contained, with the existence of only two active cases, according to data from the Regional Health Authority to which the Sul Informação had access.

Today, Tuesday, the Municipality of Alcoutim, citing information from the local health authority, says that there are no longer active infections.

"Despite today's data, the call remains on the population to continue to comply with known safety measures, such as the use of masks, frequent hand hygiene and respect for social distance," stresses the Alcoutim Chamber.

Already the mayor Osvaldo Gonçalves says that "we will do everything to continue to defend the interests of our citizens", also leaving a
message of gratitude “for the civility and commitment of the population, which, in its vast majority, has been able to accept the guidelines of the competent authorities”.
