“Never ending Summer” brings together Anjos, Íris, classic cars and cataplana in Albufeira

Anjos, Iris, a tribute to the Beatles, but also handicrafts, gastronomy and an exhibition of classic cars. These are the condiments for the “Never ending Summer”, an event that takes place from 20th to 22nd September, at Marina de Albufeira.

The venue opens its doors at 18 pm with dozens of exhibitors of crafts and regional cuisine.

At the end of the afternoon the music will start. On the 20th, Friday, “Dixieland, a Banda da Armada” will be the first to take the stage, at 18:30 pm. The jazz & blues group will consist of six musicians, who play clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, sousaphone and drums.

At 22:30 pm, the Algarve rock band Íris, which has a 40-year career, will perform. The four musicians come to present
their most recent work, “Baladas”, but promise to interpret the classics that immortalized the band.

On Saturday 21st, “Alcatraz The Band” will begin acting at 19:30 pm. Born in England, the group is composed of three elements (guitar/vocals, bass and drums) who work in Huelva and the Algarve, with a selection of themes from various musical styles.

The headliners of the night will be the Angels. Brothers Nelson and Sérgio Rosado celebrate their 20-year career and promise a concert full of surprises, scheduled to start at 22:30 pm.

On the last night, Sunday, 22, the musical entertainment will be guaranteed by the group “The Bitols”, the Portuguese band that pays tribute to the Beatles, taking the public to travel in time with one of the greatest bands of all time. The concert is scheduled for 21:00. On Friday and Saturday, after the concerts, there will still be entertainment with Live DJ until 1:00 am.

On Sunday, the venue will close at 23:00. During the event, the Marina de Albufeira will hold a sailing regatta, which will be held on the 21st and 22nd of September, at the regatta field in Albufeira Bay. On the 21st, the regatta will take place between 11:00 and 17:00 and on the 22nd, between 11:00 and 15:00, followed by the awards ceremony at 17:00.

For the 22nd, the date on which the European Car Free Day is celebrated, a race and march is scheduled, an official IPDJ event that integrates the Regional Calendar of March and Race of the Algarve. The meeting will take place at 9:00 am, at Passeio dos Oceanos, and it has two routes, one of 7 and the other of 11 kilometers. T-shirts will be given to the first 500 participants, supplies during the course and many other offers.

Visitors to the “Never ending summer” can also enjoy an exhibition of classic cars and classic Firefighters vehicles, participate in workshops and taste one of the most typical dishes of the Algarve, the famous cataplana, which will have a special place in this event with the Festival of the Cataplana.
