The João de Deus Museum House continues with its regular schedule during the month of July and August, also presenting an exhibition by the artist Luís Liberato and continuing to highlight the work of Fernando Pessoa and Maria da Luz Deus Ramos.
The dynamization of a commemorative cycle about Fernando Pessoa, documentary exhibition “We, those of Orpheu”, will continue available for public visit until the 16th of July, from 10:00 am to 13:00 pm and from 14:00 pm to 18:00 pm.
The tribute to Maria da Luz de Deus Ramos, granddaughter of the poet and pedagogue João de Deus, integrated in the activity “Culture and Pedagogy” will continue until the 26th of July, through the exhibition “Maria da Luz de Deus Ramos 1 life 1 work – biographical excerpts”.
This exhibition intends to extol and highlight this personality linked to the Algarve region, the municipality of Silves and the parish SB Messines – hometown of his grandfather – highlighting and recalling his important role in the creation of places of memory for the educator (with emphasis on the sculptural monument by Raúl Xavier, the João de Deus School Garden and the House-Museum).
This activity is part of the commemorations of the centenary of the birth of Maria da Luz de Deus Ramos, a reference in the national panorama of pre-school education.
Finally, in the field of plastic arts, the opening of the exhibition “Sopro Vital” by Luís Liberato will take place, on August 01st, at 18 pm, at Casa Museu João de Deus. This exhibition is based on records of memories with contemporary mixed techniques, leaving the viewer to visualize the imaginary.
