The fire that broke out on Wednesday had already burned, until last Friday, July 20, 19720 hectares in the Cachopo area, Tavira, according to data from the EFFIS (European Forest Fire Information System) of the European Commission.

According to these data, this was the biggest fire recorded in Europe since the 18th.
