Starting demonstrations, freestyle shows, motorcycle exhibitions and a gastronomic test are the attractions of yet another Motofest, which will bring together «passionate about the world of motorcycles», tomorrow, Saturday, May 11th, on Avenida dos Descobrimentos, in Albufeira, from 14pm.
Another highlight of the initiative will be the concert by the Portuguese rock band “Alcoolémia”, in the car park next to the Court, which is free to enter.
The event, promoted by the Moto Clube de Albufeira, with the support of the City Council and local Parish Councils, will require traffic to be cut between the traffic lights in front of the Albufeira Volunteer Fire Department and the clock roundabout, from 14pm to 00:21pm.
The program is launched with the “Free 50 CC Starts” initiative, followed by the free “125 CC Starts”. At 16pm, Paulo Martinho Freestyle performs on the municipality's main avenue «with his risky maneuvers and cinematographic tricks», according to Albufeira City Council.
The “Arranques 50 CC” final will be at 17:00 pm and at 17:30 pm it will be time for the “Arranques 125 CC” final.
At 18:30 pm, there is “Asinhas infernais”, and at 20:45 pm, Paulo Martinho Freestyle stars in a “Sunset Special”, which features Sofia Brito, with a fire show.
This is followed, at 22:30 pm, by the concert of “Alcoolémia”, a Portuguese rock band «with more than 30 years of existence and a repertoire of hits».
José Carlos Rolo, president of Albufeira City Council, says that «Albufeira is once again hosting this event, which is much loved by the people of Albufeira, with great pride, believing that the initiative is also a way of promoting Albufeira as a tourist destination in the period leading up to the summer season”.
«This is an event that represents a lot for the community and local biker associations and is yet another demonstration of the municipality's commitment to promoting ties between motorcycle enthusiasts with the city and the Albufeira brand», according to Cristiano Cabrita , vice-president and councilor responsible for Associativism.
The demonstrations on the 11th, Saturday, will require a traffic stop, on Avenida dos Descobrimentos, between 14pm and 00:21pm, specifically between the traffic lights in front of the Albufeira Volunteer Fire Department and the clock roundabout.
