New mayor of Alcoutim becomes president of Odiana

Since May 17th, after the resignation of Osvaldo Gonçalves from the Municipality of Alcoutim

Paulo Paulino, new mayor of Alcoutim, has been, since May 17th, the new president of Odiana – Association for the Development of Baixo Guadiana.

This change follows the resignation of Osvaldo Gonçalves from the Municipality of Alcoutim, having consequently also left the presidency of Odiana.

Odiana is a non-profit association whose mission is to promote the economic, social and cultural development of the Baixo Guadiana region.

Since its foundation, in December 1998, by the municipalities of Alcoutim, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António, the association has been at the forefront of structuring projects, both nationally and internationally, with special emphasis on nature tourism.

«The new presidency is committed to continuing the excellent work developed so far, reinforcing the commitment to sustainable progress in the region and implementing initiatives that benefit the local community», reads the Association's note.
