Sul Informação has already received the Innovative Project Award from the Portuguese Press Association

Six entities or personalities from across the country were awarded awards


O Sul Informação On the night of May 16th, in Lisbon, he received the Innovative Project Award awarded by the Portuguese Press Association, as part of the National Press Day celebrations.

The moment took place at Grémio Literário and rewarded six entities and personalities who have distinguished themselves in supporting the press and innovation in the sector.

The ceremony began with the presentation of the Higher Education Award to the Escola Superior de Comunicação Social, received by its president André Sendim. This was followed by the presentation of the Partnership Award, which was awarded to director Miguel Crespo.

Next, Elisabete Caramelo, communications director at the Gulbenkian Foundation received the Press Promotion Award, awarded to that institution.

In the context of newspapers, the Editorial Heritage Award was awarded to Aurora do Lima, received by its administrator Rui Barbosa, while the Innovative Project Award, awarded to Sul Informação, was received by our director Elisabete Rodrigues.

Finally, Afonso Camões received the Career Excellence Award, which was presented to him by the president of API, Cláudia Maia.

In thanks, Elisabete Rodrigues highlighted that the Sul Informação is owned by its journalists, being the result of teamwork, which has always invested in innovation, since the creation of the title in 2011. It is this investment that explains the growth of the publication, unique and admittedly online, which is today the newspaper of reference of the Algarve and Baixo Alentejo, he added.



At the end of the dinner that followed at Grémio Literário, there was also a surprise musical moment and a tribute. The song was performed by Algarve singer Susana Travassos, who performed four of her songs, and the tribute was paid to her father, the late Fernando Reis, director and owner of Jornal do Algarve, in Vila Real de Santo António, who passed away in 2021.
