Miniatures, stamps and magazines: there is a collecting exhibition in São Brás de Alportel

Exhibition is called “Peace to Wars”

The collecting exhibition “Peace to Wars”, organized by Friends of Philately with the support of CTT, is on display until January 27th, at the Municipal Gallery of São Brás de Alportel.

The exhibition marks the passage of the first decade since the beginning of this partnership of presenting philately exhibitions at the Municipal Gallery and presents a set of collectible pieces, associated with the themes of war and peacebuilding.

In a press release, the municipality highlights some «events marked by the pieces on display, such as the 110th anniversary of the start of the First World War and the 80th anniversary of “D-Day”».

In the exhibition, visitors can find philatelic collections, but also other materials such as miniatures of vehicles from World War II such as the Panzarjager Tiger 1944, the Panzerjager Tiger 1945, the V Panther Ausf. 171 from 1944, among others belonging to the Luís Braz collection.

Collector Vitor Lourenço collaborates in this exhibition with a set of magazines published during World War II, namely the magazines “Neptuno” and “Guerra Ilustrada”.

In addition to national and Spanish philately, it is also possible to see or remember the cartophilia collection “Great World War 1914 – 1918”, a set of medals by Alexandrino Rodrigo de Passos, a set of documents alluding to the First World War and a collection of bottles of perfume and the collection

Sérgio Pedro, José Belchior, Jorge Bomba, Adelino Caravela, Francisco Galveias, Aurélia Parreira and the Liga dos Combatentes de Vila Real de Santo António contributed to the preparation of this themed collecting exhibition.
