Diogo Piçarra will be the headliner on New Year's Eve in Monte Gordo. But there will also be Pete Tha Zouk and «I Love Baile Funk», which promise two memorable nights with lots of music and fireworks.
Monte Gordo celebrates the arrival of the New Year, on the 30th and 31st of December, with a program for the whole family, where there will be plenty of music and fireworks.
Em Monte Gordo, the festivities program begins on Saturday, December 30th, on Avenida Marginal, with the show «I Love Baile Funk», at 22:30 pm.
Diogo Piçarra and Pete Tha Zouk are the guests on the night of December 31st, Sunday, which promises a memorable party to welcome 2024. The warm-up takes place with the band Duo Reflexo, starting at 22:30 pm.
As has been tradition, at the first strokes of 2024, the sky of the beach of Monte Gordo will light up with a fireworks display.
Inspired by the movement and energy of Funk in Rio, the «I Love Baile Funk» nights bring to Portugal a bit of Rio culture, where a party is synonymous with energy. In addition to the musical genre and the intensity of the party, they also bring other urban genres to the dance floor, such as Hip-Hop, Drum&Bass and Kuduro.
Diogo Piçarra – singer, composer, author, musician and natural producer of Faro – is one of the biggest names in Portuguese music.
The single «Saída de Emergency» opened the year 2023 by recovering the power of writing and composing ballads that Diogo Piçarra accustomed us to. The single debuted, entering Spotify's Top200 and YouTube trends and has airplay on national radio stations. Clear signs that Diogo Piçarra has yet another success to add to his already long career.
Pete Tha Zouk is the most sought after and successful Portuguese DJ. The responsibility for this feat is due to the magic and passion he manages to create when he takes charge of a party. He holds the highest position ever for a Portuguese DJ in the DJ Mag Top 100, number 37, reached in 2011.
The City Council highlights that, «during New Year's Eve, it is expected that hotel occupancy will reach, in the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António, values close to 100 percent, confirming the popularity of this, which is one of the municipality's anchor events» .

New Year's Eve also in Vila Real de Santo António and Vila Nova de CacelaBesides Monte Gordo, the last night of the year will also be celebrated in Vila Real de Santo António, in Praça Marquês de Pombal, from 22:30 pm, with the ballads of Banda Sérgio Peres and the rhythms of DJ Miax. At midnight, the city's skies will also light up with a fireworks display.
This year, Vila Nova de Cacela also welcomes 2024, at Largo Manuel Cabanas. The celebrations will take place on January 1st, with the traditional Charolas, starting at 15 pm. The afternoon continues with music by Ângelo Correia and Jaime Gomes and ends with the launch of fireworks in the early evening.
