Sardine Gastronomic Confraternity of Portimão has a new website

The website was designed by marketing and entrepreneurship trainer Pedro André Esteves

The Sardine Gastronomic Confraternity of Portimão, which held its Second Chapter last Saturday, September 16th, has a new website and soon there will be a new anthem.

This initiative took place in the Casa do Descabeço at the Portimão Museum.

From various parts of the country, other brotherhoods came and wanted to join in the enthronement of the first non-founding members of this still young Brotherhood. The highlight is the enthronement of the first sisters and brothers linked directly or indirectly to sardine fishing, such as shipowner and fishing master Fábio Mateus, the youngest in activity in the Algarve region.

In the old La Rose fish canning factory, owned by Feu Hermanos, Luís Matos Martins, André Dias, Sandra Gonçalves, Pedro Esteves, Duarte Anjo, Paulo Tavares, Mário de Freitas, Carlos Romão, José Garrancho and Cátia Algarve also promised to do everything they could to defend the environment, the sea, its resources and uses, in particular sardines, Portimão, Algarve and Portugal.

In his welcome speech, Júlio Ferreira, fishing master of the Confraria Gastronómica da Sardinha de Portimão, also announced that the website is now available to visit, where you can find everything about the confraternity.

The website was designed by marketing and entrepreneurship trainer Pedro André Esteves.

In the final stages of production by Rafael Correia (Sickonce), from the Algarve, is the Confraria's anthem. The theme, which will be announced shortly, is based on the song “Sardinha assada” by accordionist João César from Porto.

The ceremony also included the presence and interventions of the vice-president of the Portuguese Federation of Gastronomic Confraternities António Cabrita, and the president of the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR Algarve) José Apolinário.

The Chamber of Portimão was represented by vice-president Álvaro Bila and the Parish Council of Portimão by the president of the Assembly Board Rui Rosa, two of the fifteen founding members of the Confraria Gastronomica da Sardinha de Portimão.
