Hunting, Fishing, Tourism and Nature Fair brought together 40 people in Albufeira

There were concerts by DAMA, Miguel Gameiro and Polo Norte and Nemanus

The Hunting, Fishing, Tourism and Nature Fair, which took place from the 7th to the 9th of July, was a «success» that brought «40 thousand visitors» to Albufeira.

There were activities for all tastes: exhibition of animals, products and artefacts related to hunting and fishing, gastronomy, crafts, canine technical demonstrations, equestrian events, competitions, exhibitions of agricultural machinery and a colloquium on Hunting Management and Climate Change.

Added to this were concerts by DAMA, Miguel Gameiro and Polo Norte and, on the last day, the duo Némanus.

For José Carlos Rolo, the success of the event was also due to the «relocation» to a «much wider terrain, which allowed for an increase in the size of the stands», with emphasis on the Exhibition Hall.

«Our aim is to always improve what is right, because we believe it is always possible to do better! That's precisely what happened here", he adds.

The president also highlighted the presentation of the Stand of the Municipality, an exhibition space of 400 square meters, divided into two floors: the first entirely dedicated to showing residents and tourists initiatives, works, projects and relevant events developed by the municipality, while the the upper floor is occupied by a lounge area, designed to receive visitors. It is a mobile stand, which has the advantage of being able to have other uses in the future.

José Carlos Rolo made a point of emphasizing that «Albufeira is not just a destination for sun and beaches: we have a very rich interior from a geological, natural, landscape and tradition point of view, which is important to preserve and disseminate».

The Municipality is part of the project to implement a geopark within the municipalities of Albufeira, Loulé and Silves, «the so-called aspiring Geopark Algarvensis, a territorial area with a geological heritage of great importance, candidate for UNESCO Geopark».

«Basically, events like this are a kind of symbiosis between the rural world and the coast, and all of this is under the hat of tourism", he concluded.

Vítor Palmilha, president of the Federation of Hunters of the Algarve, in turn, "said that this year's edition of the Hunting, Fishing, Tourism and Nature Fair is the biggest ever: 2000 square meters just for the exhibition tent and the participation of 200 exhibitors».

The head of the Federation highlighted that the organization of an event of this size is only possible thanks to the support of Albufeira City Council and its President, as well as the extremely professional team of the Municipality.

«I would like us to continue organizing the event in this wonderful space», he said.

The Hunting, Fishing, Tourism and Nature Fair was organized in partnership by the Algarve Hunters Federation, Albufeira City Council and Albufeira Marina. The event also had the collaboration of the Algarve Tourism Board, Albufeira Promotion Agency (APAL) and Agricultural Credit of Albufeira.
