On the 9th of June, the Municipal Council of Vila do Bispo signed a collaboration protocol with AVONDE Associação Cultural, worth 20 thousand euros.
The protocol aims to continue the development of joint actions and initiatives in the cultural, artistic and educational fields, which allow documenting, safeguarding and valuing the Local Cultural Heritage and carrying out projects that promote training, expression and artistic dissemination among the community. local.
The protocol was signed on the 9th of June, by the mayor Rute Silva, and by the president of the board of AVONDE Associação Cultural Patrícia Leal.
According to the document, the municipality grants financial support of 20 euros to AVONDE and, in return, it is obliged to develop the projects “Gentes do Cabo II”, “Massa II – Oficina do Figo” and “CineMAR – Ciclo of Cinema of Vila do Bispo”.
The first project concerns the making of a new documentary film, this time on the theme of pastoral activity as an economic practice in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, attributing special emphasis to the benefits of the landscape and the enrichment of the soil resulting from grazing. The second is a fig-based regional confectionery workshop, especially Fig Cheese and Fig Stars.
The third project includes the organization of a Cinema Cycle with films dedicated to the themes of Sustainability, the Environment and the Territory and its Traditions, with projections outdoors and indoors in various locations in the county.
In addition to these initiatives, AVONDE is also committed to providing curatorial support, consultancy and cultural programming in municipal spaces, as well as carrying out ethnographic and anthropological research.
